J -- DRYDOCK AND REPAIR THE USCGC SWEETGUM (WLB-309) SOL DTG80-97-B-3FA705 DUE 121096. Contact Mr. Kevin L. Brumfiel, Contracting Officer at (757) 628-4635. Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to drydock and perform routine vessel maintenance including but not limited to the following minimum quantity items: (1) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shaft, (2) Remove and Reinstall Propeller, (3) Clean and Inspect Heat Exchanger, (4) Preserve the Transducer Hull Rings and Renew the Depth Indicating Transducers, (5) Overhaul, Renew and Test Valves, (6) Disassemble and Inspect the Bow Thruster, (7) Overhaul Anchor Windlass Assembly, (8) Remove and Measure Anchor Chains, (9) Overhaul Warping Capstan Assembly, (10) Test Pad Eyes and Links, (11) Preserve Chain Locker, (12) Preserve Buoy Deck, (13) Preserve Exterior Decks, (14) Non-destructive Coating System Thickness Measurement, (15) Clean, Inspect and Perform Minor Repairs to Aft Void, (16) Preserve Freeboard, (17) Clean and Inspect Sewage and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tank(s), (18) Clean, Inspect and Disinfect Potable Water Tank(s), (19) Temporary Logistics, and (20) Routine Drydocking. Indefinite quantity items include but are not limited to the following: (1) Welding Repairs, (2) Inspect Replacement Propeller Shaft, (3) Remove Shaft Covering (25% Increments), (4) Renew Stern Tube Bearing, (5) Renew Shaft Sleeves, (6) Perform Minor Repair and Reconditioning of Propeller, (7) Renew Waster Pieces, (8) Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Rudder Assembly, (9) Renew Rudder Bushing, (10) Renew Rudder Pintle Bushings, (11) Rewind Anchor Windlass Motor, (12) Blast and Overhaul Anchor Chains, (13) Preserve Underwater Body, (14) Preserve Potable Water Tank(s), (15 Renew Corrosion Preventive Zinc Anodes, (16) Ultrasonic Testing, and (17) Additional Temporary Logistics. Vessel homepier is Mobile, AL. Vessel length is 180 feet - width is 37 feet. Vessel availability schedule is 13 January 1997 for 42 calendar days. The place of performance is not geographically restricted. There will be a nonrefundable charge of $100.00 required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. All other referenced documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA. The proposed contract listed here is part of the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Plans and specifications will be issued on or after 08 Nov 96.
