Construction and reconstruction of approximately 1.3 miles of 14 foot and 26 foot wide gravel road, parking areas and spurs, boat launch, reuse of approximately 22,000 sq. yds. of asphalt as base material; obliteration of parking spurs, parking areas, and approximately 1000 feet of road; removal of 2 toilets and the furnishing and installing of two concrete vault toilets; drilling and development of a potable water well, with a hand pump, picnic talbles, etc. The project is located at approximately Mile 0.4 of the Quartz Creek Road, at approximately Mile 44.9 of the Sterling Highway, aproximately 95 Miles from Anchorage, Alaska, and approximately 50 Miles from Soldotna, Alaska. Contract time is 200 calendar days with an anticipated start work date of April 1, 1997. There is a Pre-Bid meeting scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on November 14, 1996. Meet at the Day use parking area in Loop ''B'' (East Loop) of the Quartz Creek Campground. Before commencing travel to the site, we suggest you contact Paul Buell at (907) 271-2546 to confirm that snow and site conditions permit the Pre-Bid meeting as shceduled. Estimated price range is between $250,000 and $500,000. It is anticipated the the solicitation will be ready for mailing on or about February 10, 1997.
