38 -- ARTICULATING FRONT END LOADERS SOL IFB 23485-1C14 POC Contact Point, Mr. Patrick Feltman, EPC Procurement, Black & Veatch International, tel. 913-458-3831. The General Organization for Greater Cairo Water Supply (GOGCWS), in the Arab Republic of Egypt, requests bids from U.S. firms who can qualify through experience in providing similar equipment to the required articulating front-end loaders. The required articulating front-end loaders consists of units having an approximate 6.6 liter displacement, 120 horsepower turbocharged diesel engine with 2.6 cubic yard bucket to be furnished and delivered to CIP Destination Alexandria, Arab Republic of Egypt. Bidder must have representation for supply of spare parts and service in the Arab Republic of Egypt and must bid on all of the items specified. A Fixed Price Host Country Contract with GOGCWS is anticipated. Payment will be made in U.S. Dollars by USAID/CAIRO through a direct letter of Commitment under USAID Grant No. 263-1093. Interested firms may obtain copies of the Invitation for Bid Document (IFB 23485-1C14) from Black & Veatch International; P.O. Box 8405; Kansas City, Missouri 64114; Attn: Patrick Feltman; Fax No.: (913)458-3802. The IFB document is expected as soon as possible after publication of this notice. Bidders will be given 45 days from the date of issuance of the IFB to prepare and submit their bids. A public bid opening will be held at the time, date and address specified in the IFB document. Late submission of bids will not be considered. Bids must remain valid and open for acceptance for a minimum of 120 days from the date set for bid opening. The Government of the Arab of Republic of Egypt and the Agency for International Development encourage and welcome in this activity the participation, to the fullest extent possible, of minorities and women both as individuals and as members of contracting or subcontracting firms. In this respect, it is anticipated that the prime contractor will make every practicable use of such personnel and firms. (0302)
