The Department of Defense Pharmacoeconomic Center (PEC) is reviewing information to develop analytic methodologies to evaluate the treatment of Major Depressive Disorder in the Military Health Services System. Manufacturers of products used for the treatment of this disease are invited to present pharmacoeconomic information to the PEC. This information will assist in developing a treatment model for evaluation of potential product selection for the Tri-Service Formulary (TSF). Any product selected for the TSF must be available at all military medical treatment facilities (MTFs) for used by both prescribers and patients. Further, TSF agents must become part of the MTF drug formulary. Presentations on the treatment of Major Depressive Disorder will be scheduled for November 18 through December 13, 1996. Types of information being reviewed include head to head effectiveness studies of competing therapies, adverse drug reaction information, pharmacoeconomic and/or quality of Major Depression, particularly patient compliance data, patient outcome studies pharmacoeconomic modeling of Major Depression and any unpublished data relevant to the treatment of the disease. The PEC requests that summary information tables be compiled from all relevant studies of your drug and submitted to the PEC at least one week prior to formal presentations. These summary tables should include at a minimum the study citation, study design, number of subjects, efficacy versus other treatments, mean dose used in the study, side effects, total number of study withdrawals, and reason for study withdrawals, particularly those due to side effects. Up to one hour is the preferred length of a presentation: not more than one hour will be allotted for a presentation. Each Manufacturer will be limited to one presentation on Major Depression.
