3240.MA, (202)767-1473. The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) has a
requirement for engineering and technical support for research and
development, test, and exploitation of radar systems which operate in
a P-3 aircraft. The areas of support include (1) Development of target
recognition capabilities, (2) Development of enhancements to FLEET
radars, (3) Development of enhancements for Next Generation Airborne
Early Warning (AEW) radar systems, (4) Planning and demonstration of
the Airborne, Shipboard, Sea, Air, Land, Targeting, and Surveillance
(ASSALTS) program, (5) Development, test, and integration of a wide
area surveillance radar system in a P-3 aircraft, and (6) Collecting,
storing, manipulating, and delivering radar I & Q data of appropriate
targets. The major portion of tasks will be performed on-site at the
NRL. The successful contractor personnel will be required to have U.S.
Citizenship and Secret level facility clearance. An Indefinite
Quantity type contract is anticipated. The estimated minimum level of
effort is 47,000 labor hours and the estimated maximum level of effort
is 200,000 labor hours at this time but, is subject to be revised at
the time of solicitation issuance. The statement of work, labor
categories, level of effort, and personnel qualifications will be
included in the solicitation package. The period of performance is for
60 months from contract award. Proposals will be due approximately 35
days after solicitation is issued. Numbered Note 26 applies. Telephone
