Services to support R&D programs of the Total Ship Systems Directorate
of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWC/CD). The
Total Ship Systems Directorate supports Division-wide programs dealing
with total ship or major subsystem development or acquisition planning,
integration of mission subsystems into conventional and advanced ships,
technology development planning, and management of survivability
technology and damage control programs. Engineering services will be
required to assist in performing feasibility designs for surface ships,
submarines, submersibles, craft, advanced naval vehicles and
amphibians, and in developing computer-based modeling and simulation
tools to evaluate the performance of HM&E systems, combat systems,
total integrated systems, as well as new technologies and
system/subsystem concepts. Engineering services will also be required
to assist in the Marine Corps Surface Mobility and Armor program, the
Combatant Craft programs, Multiservice Logistics programs, and
technology base programs for ship and submarine concept assessment and
costing. The contract will require a mix of Naval architecture, Marine
engineering, systems analysis, systems definition, acquisition planning
and other technical services primarily in support of the programs of
the NSWC/CD Total Ship Systems Directorate. The contractor must have
experience in Naval vehicle and/or subsystem development, including
design, with emphasis on experience in state-of-the-art variants of
conventional Naval vehicles, surface ships, submarines, submersibles,
amphibious and land vehicles, in advanced vehicles, and in mission
subsystems for these vehicles. The period of performance will be five
(5) years and the total estimated man-hours for all five (5) years will
