703/602-0201 The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to award a
sole source contract to Treadwell Corporation, Thomaston CT 06787.
This proposed acquisition will provide for the procurement of a
technical data package for the militarization of the non-militarized
Digital Controller and Auxiliary Cubicles #1 and #2 of the Electrolytic
Oxygen Generator (EOG) designed, manufactured, and conceptually
demonstrated by Treadwell Corporation. Anticipated in this proposed
acquisition are two (2) contract options: 1) for the fabrication of a
production prototype of the militarized Digital Controller and
Auxiliary Cubicles #1 and #2 and 2) for the installation of the
delivered production prototype Digital Controller and Auxiliary
Cubicles #1 and #2 in a Government-provided EOG for testing and
qualification for suitability of installation aboard U.S. Navy
submarines.-Treadwell Corporation is the original equipment
manufacturer (OEM) of the Electrolytic Oxygen Generator, and as such,
is the only company with the technical expertise capable of providing
the hardware and services required by the Navy within the critical time
constraint dictated by the obsolescence of critical components of the
analog controller currently in the fleet and the impending loss of
contractor troubleshooting, repair, testing, and overhaul
capability/availability for those obsolescent controllers. See Numbered
