The Department of Education is planning on extending the current National Rehabilitation Information Center for three months under the authority of FAR subpart 6.302-1. The contract contains FAR Clause 52.237-3 Continuity of Services. The Department recognizes the importance of this center and has a requirement that it remain in existence. At this time the Department believes there is only one responsible source the current contractor, KRA, 1010 Wayne Ave, Suite 950, Silver Spring, Maryland, which has the supplies, experience and trained staff to do the job and changing contractors at this time would result in substantial delays and cost accompanied by decreased productivity.
