Sources Sought Synopsis: This is NOT a solicitation. Sources are sought for the development, integration, test, and production of modification kits for the C-5 All Weather Flight Control System (AWFCS). The C-5 Aircraft Directorate is seeking a potential replacement of existing C-5 engine and flight instruments and autopilot, autothrottle, Go_Around Attitude System, Stallimiter System, Active Lift Distribution Control System computers and associated components with a digital, integrated electronic flight control system. Specifically, use of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) or Non- Developmental Items (NDI), high reliability integrated displays, and integrated mission computers to perform required functions is desired. Interested parties are invited to send letters of qualification describing their capability to execute an aircraft modification of this scope. Your qualification letter should include a 10 page description of recent aircraft modification or production program(s) where you were the integrator or a significant provider of Group B avionics equipment, including (1) identity of the aircraft platform, (2) description of the avionics integrated, (3) your role in the Group A or Group B design, development, integration, test, kit production, and kit install. Also, if you are a manufacturer or integrator of electronic flight and engine display systems, provide details of your off-the-shelf electronic flight and engine instrument symbology as it exists in a fielded system today, including one full size color picture each of (1) the primary flight display page and (2) the engine instrument display page, and a brief three page description of the symbology mechanization (e.g., digits scroll vs. flip, tapes rotate up vs. down).
