The Department of Defense (DoD) has scheduled release of an updated RFP
for industry comment for 30 Oct 1996 and a pre-solicitation conference
04-06 Dec 1996 for a requirement to provide all personnel, equipment,
materials and integration required to deliver travel services and
meeting support for official functions to DoD installations and other
sites services within 11-state north-central area of the United States
known as Defense Travel Region 6 (DTR6). This requirement also
includes provision for all person nel, equipment and materials required
to deliver travel services. The objective of Defense Travel System
(DTS) is to provide a seamless, paper less, integrated process that
meets the needs of travelers by providing the full range of travel
services as outlined in the draft solicitation to be released for
industry comment while providing an overall cost savings to the
Government. This draft RFP is to supersede the draft previously
released on Dec 7, 1995 and all related industry questions. This draft
RFP, No. DAHC22-96-R-0004, information regarding the Defense Travel
System and information regarding the conference is to be available via
the Program Manager Office's web site at
http://www.dtic.mil/travelink. The web site is the only source for this
draft RFP. Prompt submission of industry com ment, suggested topics for
presentation and questions is encouraged to facilitate response during
the pre- solicitation conference. Comments and questions submitted
after 20 Nov 1996, may not be addressed at the confer ence. Attendence
at the conference is not required but highly encouraged. Since
selection of facilities to host the conference will be based in part on
the number of offerors indicating a desire to attend, it is imperative
each offeror responds promptly. Each offeror is limited to four
attendees. Request all comments, questions and responses be forwarded
