C -- MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL DUE 120696 POC Diane Ralston, Contracting Officer, (414)384-2000x6998 Indefinite Delivery Contract (Open-End) Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Contract Services - Provide professional engineering services necessary for various projects at the VA Medical Center (Lakeside) Chicago, IL. Services include site investigations, analysis, cost estimates, preparation of preliminary and working drawings and specifications, including asbestos abatement documents (if necessary), and construction period services. Area of consideration is restricted to firms located within a 50 mile radius of Chicago, IL. VA intends to award a contract for a period of one (1) year with two (2) additional option periods of one (1) year each. Total fees paid under the resultant contract shall not exceed $450,000, including the option years. The Government is uncertain as to the number of delivery orders that will be placed against the contract during the term of the contract. Award of individual work orders is contingent upon project funding. A/E fees for any one delivery order may not exceed $75,000. Selection criteria will be based on (1) Past performance on similar projects, maintaining project schedules and project budgets; (2) Overall mechanical experience and capability; (3) Qualifications of staff to be assigned, with special emphasis on design and field personnel to be utilized; (4) Cost control effectiveness; and (5) Ability of A/E to produce specifications on a 3.5 disk for WordPerfect 5.1, ability to produce drawings on a CAD system fully compatible with Auto CAD Release 12 and ability to produce cost estimates on Excel 5.0, Lotus 1-2-3, or Means Database. A/E firms which meet the requirements listed in this announcement are invited to submit two (2) copies of SF 254 and SF 255, within 30 days from date of announcement. No bid packages are available.
