Intent to contract with Sprint Communications Company, L.P., for continuous, non-interrupted telecommunications service. This requirement is for the lease of communication service to support data transmission requirements between asynchronous terminals at continental U.S. (CONUS), Hawaii, Alaska, Japan, Italy, United Kingdom, Spain, Bermuda, Guam, Iceland, Greece, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Puerto Rico locations with host computers at Fleet Numerical Oceanography Center (FLENUMMETOCCEN). Service begins 1 Nov 96 and continues for six (6) months. This contract action continues service pending the transition of customers to the new DISN service. There will be no solicitation issued.
