The National Park Service has a need to refurbish and repower seven (7) 1984 Chance RT-50 AMTV buses located at the Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona. The current diesel engines need to be replaced with new, not reconditioned, American-made original equipment manufacturer's liquified natural gas (LNG) engines and fuel systems. The engine installation and necessary work shall be a turn key operation, and shall be performed by a certified contractor who has certified automotive service excellence technicians. The alternative fuel retrofit project will involve a certain amount of custom engineering and installation work. The refurbishing will include replacement of plywood floors, painting, structural repairs, replacement of step wells, and other necessary repair work to be performed at contractor's location.
