Calspan/SRL Corporation -Ames Operations is seeking sources to provide screen material in the 14' Wind Tunnel at Ames Research Center. The area where the screen will be installed is of an elliptical shape approximately 45 Ft across horizontally at the widest point and approximately 32 Ft vertically at the largest point. The screen is required to come in five sections so that it can be easily handled for installation. The exact sizes have not been identified but in all cases the height of a given piece will be 82 inches and the width will vary depending on where it will be located in the tunnel opening. The screen must be fabricated in a manner that the wires do not shift. Calspan cannot accept any substitutes from the specifications as follows: .Screen Specifications: Screen material shall be 316 stainless steel and 1/4 hardened. The vertical height: (WARP) shall be 82 inches in height. Shall consist of straight wires 0.135 inch diameter. Shall be 1/4 hardened. Shall have a spacing of 3/4 inch (i.e. opening of 3/4 inch not center to center). Horizontal width: (SHUTE) Sizes yet to be determined but longest width will be approximately 45 Ft long. Shall consist of 0.080 inch wire diameter. If this is unpracticable for any reasons, please state an alternative. Shall be 1/4 hardened. Shall have a spacing of 3/4 inch (i.e. opening of 3/4 inch not center to center). Shall have a mild crimp without scoring marks at the crimp. (305)
