NOAA will procure labor and materials to provide conductivity sensors that will be used with Sea-Bird Brand temperature sensors, to measure ocean salinity from buoys moored in the equatorial ocean for deployment intervals of 6 to 18 months. The sensors must be resistant to the effects of marine fouling, have a proven record of long term deployments at sea, and be unaffected by the presence of nearby instruments and cables. The circuit board dimensions (115.8mm x 44.2mm), connectors, layout, and power requirements must fit the constraints of the PMEL/ATLAS system sensors. Sensors accuracy must equal or exceed +/- 0.005 ms./cm. Calibration support shall be provided. Data acquisition software to generate calibration sheets for temperature and conductivity will be developed and made available. No other source is acceptable.
