Curtis, (301) 713-0823, ext. 142 NOAA is assessing small business capability to perform warehousing, distribution and service operations in support of world wide sales and distribution of nautical and aeronautical navigational maps, charts, publications, and related items. The contractor shall be responsible for picking up, receiving and storing maps, charts, publications and other items. Generating orders, invoices, shipping and tracking labels from electronically transmitted data files. Filling, packaging, and shipping orders. Conducting physical inventories. Condemning and removing obsolete stock. Inventory accounting and record keeping for inventory and distribution activities. Generating statements, subscription renewals, and miscellaneous items from transmitted data files. Producing and distributing diskettes, CD/ROMs, and paper copies from masters. Electronically providing shipment and packaging tracking data. Submitting warehousing, shipping, and other reports. The contractor shall also pick up and transport skids of printing paper as required. Rigid and inflexible schedules required for many activities. Contract is for 1 base year and 4 one-year option periods, and is to be awarded in the Summer of 1997. The contractor must provide a single facility, within a 1 hour trucking radius of Riverdale, Maryland, in which to house all functions and Government provided materials. Two day standard, and same day expedited turn around on shipment of orders shall be required. Estimated annual quantities are: 5 million maps and charts; 300 mailing/525,000 addresses; 5,000 diskettes and/or CD/ROMs produced; 300,000 invoices, statements, subscription renewals, credit memos generated; 100,000 paper copies replicated; approximately 10,500 line items inventoried (approximately 900 during each month); 1 annual inventory/approximately 10,500 line items, if required. Pick-up and delivery of printing paper. The SIC Code for this procurement is 4226, Warehousing and Distribution Services, NEC, with a size standard of $18.5 million. This contract is subject to the Service Contract Act. In order for NOAA to assess small business capability, all responsible sources shall be required to submit detailed capability statements identifying specific supporting documentation, including all applicable past performance, in responding to this announcement.
