State, Office of Foreign Buildings Operations, is conducting a market
survey to establish the availability and cost of Respiratory
Protective Devices (RPD's) that meet our requirements. An RFP intended
to provide building occupant with protection from the toxic products
in smoke for time necessary to evacuate the building in the event of a
fire. It must provide good visibility, not hinder the wearer in their
movements, be simple to do and use, and in itself present no hazard to
the user. The hood must provide a measure of protection from radiant
heat. Non oxygen generating, multi-stage filter, one time use,
disposable without hazardous precautions, minimum shelf life-5 years,
sealed in tamper resistant container, wall mounting holder, capable of
filtering carbon monoxide, other toxic gases, and particulate matter
produced in a typical structure fire for a minimum period of 15
minutes, transparent heat and flame resistant hood with neck seal
