SOL N0017497Q0045 DUE 121196 POC Kay Proctor, Purchasing Agent, 301-743-6680. nswc/ih div has a requirement for 1,350 sabre line charge inert charge shapes. the inert shape shall consist of two cast aluminum halves held together by screws. the cast halves consist of approximately 5.5 pounds of a-356 aluminum and are designed to provide the weight and inertia properties of the actual sabre charge. the external shape of the inert assembly is identical to the sabre which is approximately 6.5'' x 6.5'' x 4.5''. the sabre charge shape consists of a cylinder with two flatten sides and a top and bottom that is formed by an ellipse that blends to the flatten cylinder. the scope of this contract is for a contractor to cast 300 aluminum halves (150 inert assemblies), machine the threaded holes, assemble the halves and do a final deburring of the assembly. the cast halves must have minimum porosity, discontinues and meet material impact and elongation properties. the contract will require that five cast samples be supplied for one day of evaluation within 60 days of award and delivery of 150 assemblies, 20 days after sample approval. an option for 2400 halves (1200) inert assemblies) will included for delivery by may 1,1997if exercised. quotes should be suppled for the 300 halves (150 inert charges) and the optional 2400 parts (1200 inert charges). evaluation will be based on the total cost of the base and the option quantities.
