C -- A/E SERVICES - SOUGHT,HVAC/AHU/CHILLER STUDY SOL RFP 554-11-97 DUE 112596 POC William Montoya, Contract Officer, (303-393-2866) VAMC, Denver, Colorado is seeking qualified and interested A/E Firms to provide the following tasks: a) To perform a study of the existing HVAC system, including all fan coil units, air handling units, chiller units, piping, etc., that are connected to the Main Chiller Plant in Building 1, and others. This study will follow project 554-96-103, which will add to the chiller capacity, as well as to provide CFC alternatives. b) The deliverables for this study shall include, but not limited to the following: A detailed analysis of all existing piping and component systems; A recommendation, by cost and need prioritization, of proposed improvements to the overall system; A short and long term economic forecast as to the future character of the overall systems; and a one-line diagrammatic plan of the existing and proposed systems, based upon autocadd interface with the existing VA System. The A/E shall provide professional services based upon the Special Provisions for Architect-Engineer Contract,as published by VA Standards, and is available from the Contracting Office of this Medical Center. A single negotiated contract is anticipated with the selected A/E firm, and the government reserves the option to negotiate the Bid Documents and Construction Period Services' phase of this project with the selected A/E at a later date. The project is scheduled for A/E design in Fiscal Year 1997, however, no other final design or construction phase has been approved at this time. The award of this A/E contract is subject to funding from the VISN 19 Network. Any A/E firms within a 100 mile radius interested in this project are invited to submit SF 254/255 to the VAMC, Denver, CO by close of business November 29, 1996. (0310)
