States Tank-Automotive and armaments command (TACOM) is seeking to
locate sources interested in prov iding a track system capable of
incorporation onto the M1A2 Abrams main battle tank. this track system
should have a steel backing surface for the roadwheel contact path and
a steel roadwheel. the durability goal for THI S track/roadwheel system
is 5,000 Miles at 20% replacem ent. the track shoe width must not
exceed 25 inches whi le maintaining mobility performance requirements
of the Abrams mbt. this track system, including track shoe pit CH
assemblies, roadwheels, sprockets and drive hubs is not to exceed
15,034 lbs total weight. incorporation of a ground pad is mandatory
with the new recommendation. The overall roadwheel and track pitch
thickness must ma intain current M1A2 hull ground clearance requirement
