RESEARCH INTEREST: Proposals are sought for the development and demonstration of manufacturing processes and equipment for the low cost of nonmetallic lithium Polymer rechargeable cells for military battery configurations. These processes may be adaptations of existing commercial processes and equipment or may be of new design. The result of this effort will create a non-metallic lithium Polymer rechargeable battery production line capable of producing batteries with better characteristics than current nickel-based technology.
