433-5997. This acquisition was originally synopsized in February 1996,
however, the solicitation closed without any offers. The solicitation
has been revised and the period for acceptance of offerors will be
reopened until on or about 9 December 1996. Vendors may now submit an
offer for any one or more of three groups of mail sorting services:
Domestic Mail, International Mail, and Other Mail Preparation Services.
The successful contractor(s) will pick-up mail from various federal
agencies throughout Washington and Baltimore. First Class and Standard
Class (A) mail will be consolidated, presorted, and delivery-point
barcoded to obtain United States Postal Service (USPS) discounts for
federal agencies. Delivery-point barcode mail will be presorted to the
finest depth possible in order to achieve the maximum postage
discounts available. The maximum volume of first class domestic mail is
34.2 million pieces annually. The maximum volume of standard class (a)
mail is 11,150,000 pieces annually. The maximum volume of
international mail is 142,000 pounds annually. The contract(s) will
have a performance period of one base year with four one-year options
and the optional period described in 52.217-8. All responsible sources
