Remove existing check valve assembly located in valve pit at location shown on drawings. Install a new section of 8-inch ductile iron pipe to replace valve section removed. Insure tightness of joints prior to back filling valve pit with gravel. Excavate area shown on drawings for installation of mechanical joints to flanged connecting fittings in two areas, bring the 8-inch water main line above grade. Install new values, strainers, fittings and 8-inch reduced pressure zone backflow preventer with supports. Install a 6-inch concrete slab and heater in accordance with drawings at location shown on drawings. Construct a hot box and install electrical connections. Install a new compound Water Meter Assembly supplied by the Government and provide a double check with gate values assembly including a 2-inch by pass with double check values and shut-off valves. Construct an extension to existing concrete vault to accommodate piping installation. All piping to be supported. Varify tightness of joints prior to backfilling and pouring of conrete slabs.
