74 -- FIBERBOARD FURNITURE SOL RFI-97-001RT POC Frances Toole, 301-457-1831 This is a Request for Information (RFI) to furnish a minimum of 28,000 up to 56,000 fiberboard desk and a minimum 25,000 up to 50,000 fiberboard tables with the first delivery of 8,500 desk and 8,500 tables required by September 1, 1997. The remainder may be on an even flow basis until delivery is completed but no later than June 1, 1999. The delivery destination will be Jeffersonville, Indiana. The composition of these fiberboard desk (H29 L54 W27'') and tables (H29 L54 W27'') are to be fire retardency treated, woodgrain pattern made up of 275 lb test virgin corrugated with Outer Liner - 81 lb. virgin, Medium - 40 lb. corrugated medium, and Inside Liner - 90 lb. virgin natural kraft. A preproduction sample will be required. The Contractor shall provide assembly instructions for desks and/or tables in each carton of furniture. The assembly instructions shall consist of written instructions and diagrams of the furniture at various stages of assembly. All desk/table parts shall be identified for purposes of assembly. Tables and desk will not be packaged together, but will consist of 6 complete desk or 6 complete tables in one carton packaged for domestic shipments and marked as to contents. Interested vendors are requested to submit their ability to provide the above described requirement and an estimated cost.
