for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), headquartered in Atlanta, GA,
requires commercial immunization registry software systems that may be
used by various State/U.S. Territory and local community health
officials to establish community based immunization registries in their
areas. These systems are to assist private and public providers to
operate their immunization activities more efficiently. Immunization
registry software should include the following functions: assemble
timely and accurate information on the immunization status of children
(and where feasible also adolescents and adults) within any community;
indicate the date when next immunizations are due; provide
reminder/recall capability; provide providers capbility of assessing
their immunization practices and coverage levels; provide a secure and
confidential means of communicating immunization data; and provide
inventory control of vaccines. The software may operate on various
computer configurations and platforms, such as mainframe, client
server, distributed databases, etc. Immunization registry software may
be either part of a larger medical practice office or a stand-alone
system capable of communicating with other databases. CDC anticipates
multiple awards of IDIQ contracts in accordance with FAR 16.504.
Solicitation 97-02(N) will be issued approximately December 2, 1996
with an anticipated closing date of January 15, 1997. Interested
