Hunt, 301/443-1555 This acquisition will be used to procure network support services including: definition of telecommunication systems level requirements; information engineering; analysis of developing concepts; analysis of alternative hardware and software allocations to systems requirements; provision of data telecommunications hardware and software; definition of systems interfaces; development of initial planning documents and life cycle plans; development of new concepts to satisfy operational needs; planning and completion of systems testing and evaluation through the development cycle; validation of site preparation plans; performance of rapid performance of configuration management; conduct of training; performance of hardware, software, and systems maintenance; performance of voice/data systems installation; and provision of network security services. Other typical tasks will be in support of prototyping; proof of concept conversion; local/wide area network design, engineering, and installation; physical security planning implementation; technology update and insertion; application of extension to nationwide locations. Also, this acquisition will be used to procure microcomputer systems, both hardware and software; telecommunications equipment, both hardware and software; LAN/WAN servers, routers, bridges, hubs, gateways, switches, telecommunication cabling, related peripherals, and warranty services. This is a competitive 8(a) procurement. The intent is for one or more sources to be able to provide the forementioned services. The Food and Drug Administration currently has approximately 118 local area networks in six regions, 21 districts, 18 laboratories and a number of resident posts. It is anticipated that multiple Indefinite Quantity/Firm Fixed Price and Time & Material contracts will be awarded for a period of five years. The applicable SIC code is 4813 with a size code standard of 1500 employees. Verification of SIC code eligibility is required.
