99 -- A-PLANT DISCHARGE SILENCERS SOL F40650-97-R-0008 DUE 010297 POC Kimberly Williams, Contract Specialist, (615) 454-7841 This procurement is for the materials, labor, fabrication and delivery of a silencer to be installed on the outlet of Valve 3. Valve 3 is a 36'' butterfly valve located downstream of the ETF A-Plant compressors XA11 and XA12 at AEDC. The valve provides a flow path to atmosphere for running the compressors off-header and serves as a surge valve during normal operation. Noise from the continuous discharge of up to 320 pounds mass per second of air at 400 degrees Fahrenheit must be attenuated to less than 98 dbA. The silencer must structurally withstand instantaneous mass flows of up to 520 pounds mass per second. See Note(s): 26. (0317)
