Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to furnish a complete new telescopic hanger door section assembly (for the replacement of USCG 270' A Class hanger door) and all associated components for connecting to the existing hanger's lead section on the USCGC Bear (WMEC-901). The new replacement hanger door section assembly shall be identical or equal to the USCG 270' B Class hanger door, and meet the requirements outlined in MIL-D-24151. The contractor will use the Coast Guard TP-2839, Section 588, and Coast Guard Drawing 905 WMEC 588-010 as references. The contractor shall ship the new telescopic hanger door section assembly to the vessel's homepier. USCGC Bear's homepier is Portsmouth, VA. Telescopic hanger door section assembly must be shipped to arrive at vessel's homepier not later than April 1, 1997. All referenced documents are available for viewing at 300 East Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA. There is no charge for drawings. The proposed contract listed here is open to small businesses only. Plans and specifications will be issued on or after 25 November 1996. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard. For Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates up to $500,000 per contract to provide accounts receivable financing. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $500,000 per contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses.
