Performance time is 297 calendar days. The work to be performed consists of furnishing all plant, labor, equipment, materials and supervision necessary for Replacing Roofs on 187 Military Family Housing Units, located at the Charleston Air Force Base, SC. The work includes but is not limited to the following major items of work which are listed for the contractor's convenience in order that he may determine the general scope of work involved as follows: Removal of existing flat roofing, removal of all existing rotten sheathing roof structure, wall structure, and beams, removal of all existing plywood ceiling battens and rotted ceiling plywood under flat roof areas and removal of existing asphalt shingles at scheduled buildings. Installation of new wood framing and roof sheathing over flat roof areas to form a sloped roof, installation of solid unvented plywood soffit in the ceilings of the carports and installation of double 4 vinyl siding on housing units, installation and painting of wood siding in new gable ends, installation of new aluminum coil fascia at eaves and rakes, installation of new asphalt shingles either over entire building or only over roof addition, feathered into existing roof and replacement of wood frame supports with new structural steel columns in carports of certain buildings.
