Estimated RFP release 3 Mar 97, close 4 Apr 97. The ACVCH will be an
improvement to the existing CVC Headset that will increase operational
protection to systems operators. The ACVCH must increase attenuation
against vehicle noise, increase speech intelligibility to enhance
mission effectiveness, and add Talk-Through capability. The ACVCH must
be compatible with the new generation kevlar ballistic shell. The
ACVCH system consists of an impact resistant liner and a
headset-microphone kit for communications and aural protection which
will interface with the improved Kevlar ballistic shell (used with type
DH-132B helmet system). The ACVCH is intended to be worn at all times
by individuals in combat vehicles requiring access to the vehicular
intercom and radio system. It is also intended to be worn when
dismounted from the combat vehicle and by selected individuals around
and in the tactical operations center. The U.S. Army Communications
Electronics Command (CECOM) has established an Electronic Bulletin
Board (EBB) to provide electronic transmittal of Request for Proposals
(RFPs) and Invitations for Bids (IFBs) from Government to Industry.
All interested parties wishing to do business with CECOM are invited to
access, operate, send and receive data from the CECOM EBB system. To
become a user of the EBB, you will need an identification code and
password in addition to a computer terminal equipped with the necessary
hardware and software to interface with the EBB system. A user's
identification code and password will be issued upon request along with
instructions for downloading the EBB User's Manual. All requests must
include (1) company name, (2) point(s) of contact name(s) and title(s),
(3) return address(es) and (4) telephone number(s). Please send your

regarding this acquisition will be available only on the EBB. Questions
