Hyman Tel: (410) 965-9476 FAX: 410-965-9560 The Social Security Administration (SSA) plans to issue a solicitation for the competitive acquisition of maintenance services covering Government-owned IBM equipment that consists of: 32)Communication Control Units, model 3725; 14)Controller Expansion Units, model 3726; 28)Monochrome Displays model, 3727 and 1)Switching Unit, model 7427. The Government-owned IBM equipment is located in Birmingham, Alabama; Richmond,California; East Point, Georgia; Chicago, Illinois; Baltimore,Maryland; Kansas City, Missouri; Bronx and Jamaica, New York;Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Texarkana, Texas. SSA expects the contractor to provide on-call maintenance with a 2-hour response time during the Principal Period of Maintenance which is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. On-call maintenance shall include all necessary maintenance labor, documentation, repair parts, maintenance supplies, tools, test equipment and transportation. The contractor must provide the Government with a single point of contact using a telephone number which is toll free to the Government. The contractor must provide preventive maintenance which will be performed during the Government's principal period of maintenance and extension thereof or periods contiguous thereto. SSA plans to award a Firm Fixed Price type contract. The contract will have one base year with four option years. Requests for the subject RFP shall be sent to the above address. FAX'd requests will be accepted. SSA anticipates release of the RFP approximately 15 days after publication of this notice.
