The Naval Research Laboratory has a requirement for 1 each Newbridge Vivid or equal ATM/ Ethernet local area network. The system must include an ATM switch, an Ethernet concentrator and bridge, ATM network interface card, network controller and all required system software. The ATM switch must support a minimum of twelve 155 megabit/second Sonet OC-3 compatable ports. These ports must comply with three Newbridge Vivid ATM workgroup switches already in use. The ethernet concentrator/bridge shall interface with the ATM switch via one of the OC-3 ports. Full interoperability between computer systems connected directly to the ATM switch and to computer systems connected to the ethernet concentrator will be maintained.
