(WKT), 7th and D Sts, SW, Room 6050, Washington, D.C. 20407 D -- MULTI-VENDOR PROVISION OF VALUE ADDED DATA AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS
NETWORK SERVICES OVER G-MAN SONET Due 121396. Contact Mary Stedman,
Contract Specialist, (202) 205-3725. This notice announces the closing
date for the following offering. The General Services Administration
(GSA) has implemented G-MAN, which is a Government Metropolitan Area
Network comprised of a transport system based upon SONET bi-directional
line switched OC-48 ring technology. G-MAN now forms the transport
system that supports GSA's Washington Interagency Telecommunications
System (WITS). GSA is making this SONET Network available without cost
to vendors who have a desire and the capability to deliver
competitively priced Access Arrangements and Value Added Network
services to Government authorized users in the Washington, D.C.
Metropolitan Area. GSA is offering use of its SONET ring under terms of
a standard Memorandum of Agreement between the Government and qualified
vendors. Interested vendors must demonstrate to GSA the financial,
technical, management, marketing, provisioning, and billing
capabilities of their companies to qualify for use of G-MAN. Vendors
must also provide to GSA a copy of their existing Equal Access
Agreement with Bell Atlantic - Washington, D.C., Inc. to be able to
connect through the Bell Atlantic Network to GSA's private SONET
Network. Vendors shall be solely responsible for any costs (e.g., Equal
Access Tariff fees) associated with the connection through the Bell
Atlantic tariffed access to G-MAN. GSA is seeking qualified vendors who
can provide, at competitive rates, high speed, flexible, point-to-point
or Value Added Network services such as Asynchronous Transfer Mode
(ATM) and Frame Relay, Internet Access, and other current and emerging
transport system software for Voice, Data, Image, and Video
applications. Vendors may contact Contract Specialist, Mary Stedman, at
(202)205-3725 or FAX Number (202)708-6796 for an information packet.
Once the vendor completes and submits the required information, and GSA
evaluates and approves the vendor, a Memorandum of Agreement will be
executed and the vendor can begin providing services via G-MAN to
Government authorized users. The closing date for this offer is
December 13, 1996. (317) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0024 19961115\D-0002.SOL)
