D -- INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES, INCLUDING SOL FCXB-F1-970005-N DUE 112996 POC Rosemarie Dunn, Contract Specialist, 703-308-4191; Dorothy worsham, contracting officer, 703-305-6693 The General Services Administration (GSA) is considering the possibility ofconsolidating three Unisys a series computers, now located at two sites, into one location. The decision to consolidate is being withheld until sources can be identified which can provide adequate disaster recovery support. GSA currently has a disaster recovery contract which provides backup capabilities toany of the individual systems, but not all three concurrently. In the event of a disaster, all software, including the master contract program (mcp) and related systems software, application software, and data files are brought to the disaster site then loaded. Therefore under the consolidated scenario, each of the three systems must have its own backup system. The three systems consistof the following: an A16-62E, with 240 MB memory, 102 GB disk storage, 8 cartridge tape drives, and 2 gcr tape drives; an A11--422 with 120 MB memory, 26GB disk storage, 6 cartridge tape drives, and 2 gcr tape drives, and as A16-62E with 288 MB memory, 34 GB disk storage, 8 cartridge tape drives, and 2 gcr tape drives. GSA is soliciting potential sources which can accommodate disaster recovery for its a series systems. Vendors should submit a detailed descriptionof their systems, their commercial price lists, contact points and addresses, nolater than 1:00 P.M. local time, November 29, 1996. To expedite submission, information may be faxed to faxed to (703) 305-5094 OR 305-3040 or sent through the internet by addressing: SAM.WORSHAM,GSA.GOV or ROSEMARIE.DUNN,GSA.GOV.(0319)
