The proposed contract action is to increase the contract maximum amount of $180,000,000 to $205,000,000 for Contract No. DACW05-95-D-0001, Total Environmental Restoration Contract with IT Corporation, Martinez, CA. The increased contract capacity is necessary to cover cost growth in task orders presently underway and will not include any new task orders. The Government intends to increase the contract maximum as stated unless as a result of analysis of responses to this notice a determination is made that such an increase is not in the best interest of the Government. The justification for the increase is based on FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii) which states that services may be deemed to be available from only the original source in the case of follow-on contracts for the continued provision of highly specialized services when it is likely that award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition, or unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirements. All interested persons may respond. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. All responses received within 45 calendar days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government.
