The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) Project involves renovation of the third floor (11,600 SF) and a portion of the basement of Building 500 at Offutt AFB. Work includes removal of partitions, replacement of doors and hardware, painting, carpeting, etc., mechanical systems require replacement of duct work, an addition to the mechanical room, and installation of DDC, renovation of electrical systems include upgrade of power supply system to 500KVA and upgrade of lighting system, communication systems require installation of fiber optic LAN system and new Category V wiring to workstations and communications rooms along with new telephone systems. Fire protection upgrades require installation of new sprinkler system for fire suppression with rewiring of pull stations and sirens. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $7,500,000 and $10,000,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 657 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bid sets will be available on/a December 3, 1996. Half-size plans and specifications will be furnished upon request. All requests for solicitation packages should be made in writing no later than 14 days prior to bid opening. After such time, packages will be furnished if supply is available.
