The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) RCRA caps shall be constructed on 3 sites to involve, installation of 12'' subgrade, geosynthetic clay liner, a geomembrane and an 18'' soil cover for each site. Soil covers require seeding and sites shall be fenced. Soil shall be hauled from borrow location on base. In addition, monitoring wells shall be removed along with an airplane mock-up. Approximate quantities are: borrow and haul - 2500 cy soil, geomembrane and geosynthetic liner 19,600 sf, abandon 10 ea. monitoring wells, fencing, 1280 sf, silt fencing 1900 lf, seeding, 1.5 acre. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 150 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bid sets will be available on/a December 2, 1996. Half-size plans and specifications will be furnished upon request.
