delineates the basic requirement for the Visual Instrument Display
(VID) alternative for the A/MH-6J aircraft: a. Items must be
off-the-shelf, commercially available and FAA approved. Hardware may be
personalized to account for aircraft specific limit applications. b.
Physical size must not exceed 4.4 inches in height by 5.3 inches in
width by 9.0 inches (with connector) in depth. c. Physical weight shall
not exceed 5.25 pounds. d. As a minimum, the item must be capable of
displa ying the following parameters in digital and analog mode: (1)
Engine Torque with scalar segments ranging from 20 to 100 psi. The
segments shall be displayed in three different colors: green, yellow,
and red. (2) Engine Turbine Outlet Temperature with scalar segments
ranging from 300 to 927C. The segments shall be displayed in three
different colors: green, yellow, and red. (3) Rotor RPM (Nr) with
scalar segments ranging from 0 to 109%. The segments shall be displayed
in three different colors: green, yellow, and red. (4) Engine Turbine
RPM (N2) with scalar segments ranging from 0 to 109%. The segments
shall be displayed in three different colors: green, yellow, and red.
e. If possible, the item should be capable of displaying the following
additional parameters: (1) Engine Oil Pressure with scalar segments
ranging from 0 to 150 psi. The segments shall be displayed in three
different colors: green, yellow, and red. (2) Engine Oil Temperature
with scalar segments ranging from 0 to 150C. The s egments shall be
displayed in three different colors: green, yellow, and red. (3) DC
Ammeter with scalar segments 0 to 200 amps. The segments shall be
displayed in three different colors: green, yellow, and red. f.
Approximately fifty shipsets will be procured. Delivery ranges from 1
Jan 98 to 1 Jul 98. g. All displays shall be NVG compatible. h. The
