The Propulsion Systems Evaluation Facility located at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Maryland has a requirement for services to convert the oil fired fuel system of a compressed air heater to a natural gas fired fuel system. This heater will be used for jet engine component testing and will be provided to the prospective contractor for conversion. The packaged natural gas fired system shall consist of the following components: heat exchanger, burner, combustion and dilution air chambers, gas pilot, combustion air blower, temperature controller, control panel, gas control valve, combustion and dilution air control valves, and gas flow measuring device and gas cocks. Motor starters, power disconnects, switches, relays, instrumentation and all piping and wiring required for a complete heating unit as well as applicable drawings and instruction manuals for the new system shall be provided with the conversion. This particular requirement will be procured using Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). A request for quote will be sent to any prospective offeror who requests one. Such requests shall be made in writing to Mr. David Hess at the address listed in block 7 of this synopsis or faxed to (301) 342-1161 and must be received within 15 calendar days of this notice publication.
