(Site Code DOCSUP) The Directorate of Contracting at Fort Bliss is assisting the Directorate of Civilian Personnel in contracting for a Classification Specialist. Specialist shall evaluate and classify a full variety of typically complex professional, technical and administrative positions by comparing assigned duties with federal classification standards. Specialist shall apply knowledge of the federal classification system, OPM Position Classification Standards, agency and local guidelines, and precedent appeal decisions to determine the appropriate pay plan, job series, title, and grade. Specialist shall prepare evaluation statements fully supporting classification findings and discuss with Contracting Officers' Technical Representative to assure soundness of conclusions and compatibility with current position structures, position management goals and high grade controls. Specialist shall work with supervisors and employees to clarify assignment of duties in order to facilitate classification processes. For activities participating in Managing Civilians to Budget, Specialist shall assists managers/supervisors with delegated authority for classification by providing advisory classification on title, series, and grade. Specialist assists in accomplishing the technical and administrative work required for regionalization of the classification function.
