42 -- PORTABLE REFILL SYSTEM FOR THE HELICOPTER EMERGENCY EGRESS DEVICE (3,500 PSI) SOL N68335-97-R-0069 DUE 010697 POC Jack Murtagh Contract Specialist Code 2132JM, (908) 323-2901. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst intends to procure through competitive procedures CQU-10/U Portable Refill Systems (PRS) in support of the SRU-40/P Non-developmental Item Helicopter Emergency Egress Device (NDI HEED). The PRS is a 3,500 psi, portable servicing system for the NDI HEED. The PRS will be used to bring the NDI HEED pressure reading to an acceptable limit for flight. It shall use a standard 120 cubic foot, galvanized steel, SCUBA cylinder, certified to a working pressure of 3,500 psi. The Navy intends to procure 465 units. The contract will include an option quantity for up to 100%. Each contractor will be required to submit a sample PRS for evaluation. The PRS shall be delivered to NAWCAD Lakehurst in accordance with the instructions found in the RFP. The PRS will be evaluated as it relates to the requirements of the performance specification. Offerors must pass this evaluation in order to remain competitive for an award. The production units shall be delivered 60 days ADC. Sample PRS shall be returned to the contractors and will not become a part of the production units. The proposed contract is 100% set aside for small business concerns.
