The project consists of the removal of existing and installation of new slide gates and grating in the Comminutor chamber at sewage pumping station in Bedford, MA. The principle items of work include, but are not limited to dewatering the ground outside chamber of subsurface water in accordance with Bedford Conservation Commission and other authorities in order to allow all work inside chamber, diverting chamber sewage flow, installing gate supports in floor/walls, sealing cuts and cracks in chamber against infiltration, installing Government furnished slide gates, all work necessary to purchase and install reinforced fiberglass grating. The Government will provide drawings of the chamber. The contractor shall be responsible for verifying all conditions within the chamber and surrounding area. This project is a firm-fixed simplified acquisition procedure. The magnitude of construction is from $25,000 to $100,000. The period of performance will be 45 calendar days. The site visit is tentatively scheduled for 10:00AM, local time, on 11 Dec 96. The statement of work will be provided at the site visit.
