Beverly F. Wasniewski, Contracting Officer, 201-724-2164. The U.S. Army
and U.S. Special Operations Command have a joint requirement for a
Non-Developmental Item (NDI) or modified NDI 50 Caliber Sniper Weapon
System which will consist of the basic weapon itself, a removable
companion optic to assist in identifying and engaging the targets at
ranges of 2,000 meters as the objective (1,500 meters as the
threshold), a hard carry case, a soft carry case (drag bag) and a hard
case for the optic when it is separate from the rifle. Four complete,
identical and functional weapon systems will be supplied to the
government as bid samples as part of the proposal requirements for
evaluation by the government. The bid samples will be evaluated against
the required characteristics (basic factors) and for competitive
evaluation. The bid samples will be provided at no cost to the
government and will be returned in an as-tested condition following
award. A market survey was published in the CBD 14 Aug 96. Offerors
proposals together with bid samples must be received at ARDEC within
100 days after the RFP issue date. This solicitation will be available
