A -- INDEPENDENT EVALUATIONS FOR SEVERE ACCIDENT RESEARCH SOL RS-RES-97-040 DUE 011597 POC Stephen Pool, Contract Specialist, 301/415-8168 On a task order basis, the contractor(s) shall perform independent evaluations of NRC-supported computer codes and of phenomena associated with severe reactor accidents; perform research for ALWRs including separate effects experiments as necessary; evaluate the applicability of results of ongoing research to ALWRs; assess or develop models or correlations for NRC severe accident codes that lead to a better understanding of severe accident phenomena; independently assess the applicability of separate effects experiments in models validation; apply the NRC severe accident codes to operating plants and ALWRs. The period of performance of resultant contract(s) will be one year with four one-year options. Proposals for this requirement may be submitted by all concerns. The subcontracting plan requirements of P.L. 95-507 are applicable to this effort. Thus, all large businesses must be prepared to submit a detailed subcontracting plan. A source list comprising the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of all concerns requesting a copy of the solicitation, with large businesses identified by an asterisk, will be provided with the solicitation. In order to identify large businesses on the list, a request for the solicitation should indicate the size of the business based upon a SIC code of 8711. The size standard for this solicitation is $2.5 million in average annual receipts over the last three years. In order to allow small concerns sufficient time to contact you for possible subcontracting opportunities, you are encouraged to make your request for the solicitation prior to the solicitation issuance date. A copy of the solicitation and all subsequent amendments will be provided to each requester.
