CHEW, 703/875-6068 The Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic (DS) is conducting a market survey to identify a replacement Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) system that will be deployed world wide at the Department's foreign service posts. Specially DS is interested in interior fixed cameras, CCTV control systems, switchers, time lapse VCRs and all related mounting and installation hardware. The current CCTV system uses the NTSC video format with high resolution Black and White cameras. Control signals for Pan/Tilt, zoom and focus are via the video coax line. The control protocol goes under the trade name of ViCoax and TransCoax. Monitors are 9 inch Black and White. We are particulary interested in CCTV equipment that has the following characteristics: 110/220 Volt 50/60 hertz capable (all equipment); CCD cameras; Fixed auto-iris and zoom lenses; Rack mountable control and monitoring equipment; Interior cameras powered via the coax video cable; Exterior high speed dome type cameras with pressurized housings; Pressurized exterior tube type housings (for fixed and controlled cameras); Exterior and interior IR illumination capability; Control signals transmitted on video coax line; Exterior Pan/tilts capable of upright or inverted mounting; Cameras to be controllable from master and slave stations; and CCTV systems that are downwardly compatible with DS's current CCTV system. The average CCTV system deployed by the Department has 16 or fewer cameras. At present about 3,800 cameras are in use worldwide.
