The General Services Administration (GSA) intends to extend the Federal Information Relay Service (FIRS) Contract with Sprint, Inc. Sprint, Inc. is presently performing relay service between hearing and hearing - and speech-impaired individuals with and within the Federal Government. The relay service is nationwide (fifty states as well as the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Guam); long distance (interlata) service is provided by the Federal Government through GSA's FTS2000 contractor. This contract extension will allow the Government to bridge the time period between the present contract and the Post FTS2000 contract. The FIRS contract will be extended by one year and fifteen days with an option for an additional six months.
