The 30th Contracting Squadron intends to place a contract with Lucas Aerospace Cargo Systems to provide and install three high-performance rescue hoists (NSN 1680-01-058-3671) on three UH-IN Helicopters with the 76th Rescue Flight at Vandenberg AFB, CA. Each hoist consists of five major assemblies: winch assembly, boom head assembly, boom position support assembly, control panel assembly, and control pendant assembly. The hoist has a 260 foor cable and a load rated at 600 pounds. Lift speed at rated load is 125 feet per minute (250 feet per minute at 300 pound load). The hoist is powered by the helicopter and can be operated by one man. SIC Code is 3536. No contact shall be awarded on the basis of quotations, proposals, of other information received in response to this notice since this synopsis of intent to award a contract to Lucas Aerospace Cargo Systems cannot be considered a Request for Proposal (RFP). However, if responses from vendors offering their technical ability and technical acceptability can be established by examination of literature submitted, then the Contracting Officer may decide to resynopsize this acquisition under full and open competition. If no affirmative written responses are received within 10 days after publication of this notice to the effect that an acceptable alternative source is available, a contract will be negotiated with Lucas Aerospace Cargo Systems.
