The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) intends to purchase one (1) Bioflo 3000 console 120v, one (1) Shipping Kit, one (1) BioFlo 10 liter Vessel Assembly, one (1) Probe Kit ingold, one (1) Motor Kit, one (1) Cell Culture Conversion Kit, one (1) Pitched Blade Impeller, one (1) Bioreactor Vessel, one (1) Marine Blade Impeler, one (1) Probe Kit ingold and one (1) day setup and training at customer site. This Bioprocessing system must meet the following specifications: 1) The fermentor must have a working volume range of 3.0 L to 10.0 L. 2) Interchangeable vessels must be available for this unit with working volumes of .62 L to 1.25 L, 1.25 L to 2.5 L and 2.5 L to 5.0L. 3) The fermentor headplate and jacketed hemispherical bottom must be manufactured from 316L stainless steel, it must be corrosion resistant as well as rapid heating and cooling of the media in the vessel. 4) The fermentor sidewalls must be made of single layer glass and four (4) side-ports. 5) The vessel's height to diameter ratio must conform with the US Pharmaceutical standard of 2 to 1. 6) The fermentor must have at least 5 programmable, on-board peristaltic pumps. 7) The fermentor with its on-board pumps shall not exceed the dimensions of: w: 22.5 in., D: 24.5 in., H: 44.5 in. 8) The unit must be able to operate as a bioreactor as well as a fermentor. In bioreactor mode the agitation range must be from 20 to 500 rpm. Any add-on accessories must be included. 9) The fermentor must feature a high-torque permanent magnet DC servo motor drive that is removable without tools for autoclaving. A second motor for the bioreactor mode with a magnetic seal must be included. 10) The vendor must offer double glass cell culture vessels with maximum working volumes of 1.25L, 2.5L,5.0 and 10.0L. The 10 L vessel must be included as part of this purchase. 11) The fermentor must control vessel temperature with an accuracy of plus or minus 1 degree celsius or better up to a temperature of 60 degrees Celsius. 12) Agitation range in the fermentation mode must be from 20 to 1000 rpm. 13) The airflow must have a range of 0 SLPM to 7.5 SLPM, and must be measured by a thermal mass flow meter. 14) In the fermentation mode, pH must be controlled by use of 2 of the peristaltic pumps. 15) The pH and D.O. probes one each for fermentation and one each for cell culture must be included. 16) The cell culture vessel must be equipped with both marine and the pitched-blade impeller. 17) A foam probe must be provided. 18) The fermentor must be microprocessor controlled by use of PID algorithms. 19) the unit must be capable of providing an Oxigen transfer rate of 350mM/ (L) (hr) or better. Documentation of test methods and results must be on file and available for customer inspection. 20) The fermentor must feature a back-lit display of at least four (4) variable setpoints and four (4) variable current values. This requirement is set aside for small business under the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code 3826, Size Standard 500 employees. Quotations will be due fifteen (15) calendar days from the publication date of this synopsis. The quotation shall include an itemized price quotation, the period of delivery, prompt payment discount terms, the business size and descriptive literature of the product quoted identifying all of the specifications. Quotations will be evaluated on comformance to the government's specifications, price, quality, and delivery period.
