Description of content: The proposal gives advice for voluntary type approval and production control of thermal insulating materials. The proposal is a revision of existing general recommendations from 1989 and implies dissolution of the connection with the private VIM-control and opens up for competition according to the open system with several certification bodies. 7. Objective and rationale: The general conditions for type approval and production control is laid down in BFS 1995:6. These requirements are currently being revised. The revision has been notified in G/TBT/Notif. 96.240. The present draft aims to give uniform procedures for type approval and production control of thermal insulating materials. 8.
