TOKAMAK POC Larry L. Sutton, Sr. Subcontract Administrator,
609-243-2441, Fax 609-243-2021 Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory
(PPPL) a U.S. Department of Energy Prime Contractor solicits qualified
sources interested in participating in a pre-solicitation review of a
draft Statement of Work (SOW) for the dismantlement and removal of the
Tokamak Fusion Test Reactor (TFTR) Tokamak, located at PPPL's James
Forrestal Campus, Princeton, NJ. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)
has directed that TFTR experiments cease and a ''safe shutdown'' be
accomplished by 30 September 1997. Some TFTR components are
radiologically active and some are contaminated with tritium.
Semi-remote dismantlement of some components may be required. The
removal process includes preparation of material for shipment to a DOE
approved low level radioactive waste receiver repository or an
activated material recycling facility. PPPL especially seeks input from
commercial firms that have successfully performed the dismantlement of
nuclear power facilities. The pre-solicitation conference is scheduled
for 9:00 a.m. till noon, Wednesday 4 December 1996 at PPPL. Parties
that state an interest in attending will be provided, in advance, a
copy of the draft SOW. The Conference Agenda includes a briefing on the
proposed dismantlement and removal work requirement and schedule, a
visit to the work site and a question and answer period. Attendees will
be requested to submit to PPPL by 19 December 1996 written comments on
the draft SOW. Fax to PPPL POC Larry L. Sutton (609) 243-2021
expressions of interest in attending the Conference. Include Company
name and address for Express mail, and point of contact, with phone and
fax numbers. Also include the number of personnel that will represent
the Company at the Conference. The draft SOW will also be provided,
upon request, to Companies that cannot attend the Pre-Solicitation
Conference, but desire to review and comment on the document.
Conference attendance is not a requirement for receipt of any RFP that
may be issued for this work. Subcontract award, if any, will be
subject to the availability of funds. (0330) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0097 19961126\Z-0010.SOL)
